Our Top Picks Pure Essential Oil Set explained

Top Picks – Why to start with our Top 6 Oils

Our Top Picks set of 100% Pure essential oils is selected to give you a diverse set of the most popular products in the marketplace so is a great place to start. The 6 bottles contain a selection of oils that really are great all rounders, they provide health benefits and also offer an affordable way to begin working with and using pure essential oils. All are great for use in diffusers or candle burners but they also have many other uses and we will show a few below for each oil to help you begin.

LAVENDER

If you could have only one pure essential oil this would probably be the most recommended. The essential oil of lavender is extracted from the fragrant blooms of the plant and the distinct aroma is relaxing and healing. Lavender oil is perfect for creating a fresh smelling home, treating allergies or soothing rashes. It is great for general skin or hair care and mild enough for almost all skin types.

TEA TREE

Obtained from the Melaleuca alternifolia tree, this essential oil can be used for topical use, however, it can also be used externally to treat a wide range of skin conditions, from skin sores and acne to psoriasis and dandruff. It is the number one herbal remedy for acne and dandruff that doesn’t respond to other treatments. Tea tree oil can be diluted with a carrier oil for skin and scalp applications. Add it to warm water for a footbath to treat    athlete’s foot and nail fungus or to avoid smelly feet. Spot application is possible on warts and cold sores to promote healing.

PEPPERMINT

The essential oil of peppermint has a strong, spicy smell we usually associate with the herb and peppermint flavoured candy or gum. A high percentage of menthol in the plant parts as well as the essential oil is responsible for this powerful aroma. This antimicrobial, pain relieving oil can be used for dental care and digestive problems. It prevents bad breath, relieves nausea, stomach pain, indigestion, and gas. It can bring down a fever and can also reduce pain associated with a headache. It can also be used on inflamed joints for pain relief purposes.

LEMONGRASS

A fresh, zesty and invigorating aroma is just one advantage of Lemongrass essential oil, it can be used to relieve muscle pain, externally to kill bacteria, ward off insects, and reduce body aches. Diffusing lemongrass can really help with feelings of nervousness or eliminate mental fatigue. Lemongrass oil has excellent soothing and calming effects on the mind and can aid in sleep issues. Some use this oil to strengthen hair follicles adding it to olive oil and massaging into hair.

EUCALYPTUS

Distilled from the leaves and bark of eucalyptus trees, this oil with an unmistakably strong smell has many uses in the treatment of serious conditions like chest infections, bronchitis and pneumonia. Eucalyptol, or 1,8-cineole, which accounts for 70–90 percent of the contents of eucalyptus oil, has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects. Soothe insect bites or skin irritations and boost your immune system using Eucalyptus oil. A great oil to just take into the sauna or steam room to help with sinus issues or to clear the respiratory tract or even just as a lovely refreshing aroma after working out.

ORANGE BLOSSOM

Sourced from the flowers of the bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium), Orange blossom  essential oil is said to offer a variety of benefits for mental and physical health and its uses date back to ancient Egypt. The sweet and spicy orange promotes a feeling of happiness and warmth when used in, diffusers, candle burners or aromatherapy and its fresh aroma is ideal for use as an air freshener. Great for a mental health boost or put a few drops into your laundry to freshen up clothes.

We cover in more detail other uses for the oils later in our e-book but I am sure you are starting to understand the many advantages of Pure Essential Oils and their uses.
